Soft notes of sweet toasted malt, tangy hops and fruit make up this seasonal ale's appealing nose; the body is a bloody amber in color, with a tan head that drops to a light coating after the initial rush of foam subsides. A heavy tasting and smooth beer, with strong initial impressions of malty sweet and alcohol zest, followed closely by elegant dryness. While the alcohol content of this brew is relatively high, 6.9% by volume, it is subtle in its effect on the palate. A very dry and slightly tart finish round up this heavyweight brew. Pyramid has come through with a fine winter warmer, right for any just about any cold-weather occasion.
