This IPA's scent is an intoxicating mixture of tart sweetness and aromatic hops, heightened by a small yeasty undercurrent; a wheat colored brew, slightly cloudy with sediment, and very little noticeable carbonation. The strong hop character of this smooth, medium-bodied brew is immediately evident, as is its strong alcohol, and floral verve. Unfortunately the intense bitterness in the aftertaste can be construed as more than a bit sour, which may turn people away from this otherwise deserving brew. Like many American versions of the classic English beer style Oregon's oldest microbrewey checks in with an IPA that is vigorous and demanding of the drinker; the result is striking, but clearly not for everyone.
