Long Shot Molasses Coffee Stout
One of three winners of the World Homebrew Contest sponsored by the Boston Beer Company, makers of Samuel Adams, this unique, thoroughly delicious stout has been brewed to the specifications of the original recipe. The strong nose of coffee beans, chocolate, highly roasted malt, with a deep, sweet undertone of molasses is arousing. Opaque blackness, topped with a dense and fluffy head, make the look of this beer as impressive as it's aroma and taste. Intensely full-bodied, almost chewy, the mouthfeel is thick like heavy cream. The molasses sweetness is, tactfully, restrained and plays only a subtle, yet flavorful role in the taste of this specialty stout, which is dominated by coffee, and heavy malt, and tempered with mild hoppiness. While purists may not endorse the use additives such as molasses and coffee in beer, the result here is outstanding; Long Shot Molasses Coffee Stout is a real winner.
