Thomas Kemper Maibock

A brew review of the Thomas Kemper Maibock

Thomas Kemper Brewing Co.
Seattle, WA
Overall Rating 7.0
Look (0-1) 0.6
Aroma (0-2) 1.2
Taste (0-5) 3.6
General Impression (0-2) 1.6

This cloudy copper colored beer pours nicely into the glass, but the head doesn't stick around too long; though the nose is somewhat hidden, hints of semi-sweet maltiness, citrus, and honey are evident. Thomas Kemper Maibock is an aggressive, full-bodied lager that packs a heavy alcohol charge. The strong, complex malt is musky and smooth, rich with a faint sweetness that is suggestive of ripe fruit, apples, pears, and oranges. As far as bocks go this seasonal lager holds it's own well, packing a punch and delivering a robust, distinctive taste.
