This stout is about as dark as they come. Pours like a ribbon of black in silk into the glass. The subtle aroma of deep-roasted chocolate is difficult to distinguish, but worth the effort. Creamy, thick, incredibly full-bodied. While the initial burnt, nutty flavor is quite muscular and bitter, the aftertaste is even stronger, almost overwhelmin, leaving the mouth a very dry, and sour sensation. Despite its seldgehamer taste, serious brew tasters will appreciate Ipswitch Oatmeal Stout's distinictive and unique character.
