Jet black body with a rich looking coffee colored frothy head that looks like you could scoop it up with a spoon; the nose is a provocative mix of coffee, mocha, and faint alcohol, almost like spiked chocolate ice cream. Watney's Cream Stout is seductively sweet, creamy, and mildly bitter. This mannered brew's engaging flavor palate suggests dark malt, coffee, a lightening apple-fruitiness, chocolate, and walnuts. The extremely mild finish, with its milky smooth mouthfeel, is both dry and tainted with the right touch of alcoholic, is almost a muscle relaxant. Watney's succeeds admirably; a flavorful and dynamic light-weight stout. |
