Homebrewing for Dummies picks up right where the homebrewing chapters in Beer for Dummies left off. Again, Marty Nachel does an excellent job bringing the reader from the beginnings of homebrewing to the very advanced with a graduation in steps that replaces painful with pleasurable. Nachel's love of the subject matter is evident as he deftly intertwines his wit and mastery into this guide that is as interesting as it is instructive. A large section of over 100 recipes should help keep fledgling homebrewers quite busy. As with other books in the "For Dummies" series this one uses cartoons, icons and factoids to keep the reader involved. While the average reader might be a little nervous about reading a "dummy" book in public, they should hold their head high and be proud that they are learning the time honored art of homebrewing. Don't forget to check out the Brewers Journal to read about the misadventures of a couple of upstart brewers.
