Nachel and Ettlinger's introductory text to the world of beer is a complete and well-written volume covering everything from what a first-time homebrewer needs to get going, to what to look for when tasting beers, to a concise history of beer. After reading through this book the neophyte will be armed, without being overwhelmed, with more than enough knowledge when it come to beer. The "For Dummies" guide format allows for the presentation of information in a very clear and comprehensible way, and this serious reference is an especially good guide for those new to the field.
