Brandan Behan

Jamaica Plain
I just experienced the Brendan Behan, in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood. What a great, cozy place! Although it's only about 5years old, it looks like an old Irish pub. The beers are plentiful -- Guinness (of course), Samuel Adams Boston Lager and Seasonal, Harpoon IPA, Belhaven (yum -- my favorite, and just as smooth as I remember, with a great creamy head), and about 6 or 7 more great stuff on tap. There's entertainment, too, and it seems to be free of charge. The night I visited, I was entertained by a really good Memphis Rockabilly band. What with the clientelle -- young Irish visitors and cool JP denziens, I felt like I was in Dublin. (Submitted by Heide P.)
